The 1970's

Joe Perry's main guitars during 1975 and '76 were a black, two-pickup Les Paul Custom, a sunburst, slab board, '61 Strat, a '64 Firebird VII (three pickups, gold parts), and a mid-Fifties, stripped-finish, maple-neck Tele. In the summer of 1976, he also purchased a two-tone '58 Les Paul Sunburst from Gruhn Guitars in Nashville that became his main guitar for quite some time. That guitar eventually ended up in Slash's collection. - Guitar World, November 1997.
