PLASTIC JESUS

It's just a plastic Jesus
that hangs above the door.
It looks a little crosseyed
peering down upon the floor.

It's seams are held together
by little globs of glue,
cause it fell from that height
when someone threw a shoe.

It's paint has been peeling
since the day it was brand new,
but if you'd been through what it's been
through, you'd be peeling too.

The wooden cross that is attached
makes it hang on a slight  slant,
but  that's  okay really
cause it is hidden by a plant.

If I really thought about it
I might expect a little more,
but, it's just a plastic Jesus
that hangs over this dang door.
