Lens made in Japan, and assembles from two pieces for compactness. Comes complete with metal lens hood, front & rear caps for both elements and built-in 360-degree, locking tripod-mount collar. Lens is 11.25" long assembled when focused at infinity (extents outward as it focuses down to 27 feet), add 2" when hood attached. All glass elements are perfectly clear, overall condition is "mint -". Only one subtle, minor 0.25" scratch on front lens barrel. Does not appear to have been used. Carry case interior has a divided red lining. Outside is brown leather with zipper closure. This appears to be a well made, quality lens for use with Exacta cameras, although I have no other reference on the TAIKA company. 9901 Edixa with Exakta flange ![]() Description of the lot I looked in Mckeown's 9th edition and found this camera listed as coming in screw mount. But this one is definitely Exakta. Finder is waist level. Needs slight "encouragement" to open finder. Body could me more like ex+ but baseplate at one corner has corrosion to brass along the edges. Also rear door has some black paint loss, about 10% of it is affected. Lastly back door leatherette had tape on it, when peeled left a dull look on back leatherette. Shutter is working and actually speeds are close to right on (except 1000th doesn't open at all) and speed dial is offset by one stop. So 50th setting gives 1/25 speed, 100th give actually 50th, 25th is slowest, so it got bumped to "B" speed. Entire shutter range is B and 25th to 1000th. Cloth shutter curtains look great. Lens has clear, clean optics, no haze, no fungi, no separation. Diaphragm is smooth but oily. Lens body is good, light nicks, no particular scratches or dents, very minor paint loss on filter ring, ring has no dents. Focus is smooth. The seller added the following text: Hi everyone. Some have asked is this an Exakta mount, answer is yes. I scanned the camera without a lens. See inset photo. ![]() 9901 Exakta IIA, version 4 ![]() Description of the lot EXAKTA IIA with Carl Zeiss Lens. Made in USSR occupied Germany. This is a very interesting camera. It has many features I have never seen before (a film cutter inside the body) and unfortunately I do not have a manual for it. However, if you have one or can figure it out; here is the chance to experiment with Zeiss lenses for next to nothing. Included with the camera is a CARL ZEISS JENA BIOTAR 2/58!!! The body is rough (loose leather) on the removable viewfinder and some chrome off on body. It also needs light seals, but lens is in excellent condition. (Surely he did not know Exakta cameras. This is the rare Exakta IIA version 4. You can recognize this camera for the "USSR occupied" engraved on the bottom). 9901 The split of these pages depends from the reason why I try to make these pages "light" so you can load them in few minutes. The most incredible online auction. If you type "Exakta" or "ExaCta" or "Exa" in the small form top right, you can have immediately every Exakta item. |
