Prof. Fetz has been a pioneer all his life. For example, he participated at the first Olympic Games where Gymnastics has been admitted (Helsinki, 1952 - see under Sports Career); he was the first professor of Sport Science in Germany and the first in Austria. He invented/pioneered many basic elements of Sports Science including the creation of new words.
