COMING ATTRACTIONS FOR SPRING 2001 June 2000 version

Dear Environmental Community,

The nexus of the spring 2001 schedule is a very important Master Lecture Series entitled “Pioneers of Sustainability.” This series will showcase many of the forward thinkers who helped define and create social recognition for the concept of sustainability. How can you participate? First, you should plan on taking ZINT-121 Master Lecture Series for 2 credits on Wednesday evening. There will be two seminars, in addition, that are scheduled to accompany the Master lecture. One is the all-college Master Lecture seminar for 2 credits, suitable for all students. The second is the Environmental Seminar, which will also meet around the lecture and focus on related topics. The Environmental Seminar is designed for senior students who will do indepth readings to accompany the lecture series. Both seminars will meet with the guest speakers for the evening after the lecture to explore themes raised by the lecture. Environmental Seminar students will do an independent project on one of the pioneers’ work and write a comprehensive paper on the subject.
