World Sustainability Learning Module Assignment #4

Grading Scenario #4

Your intern sponsor has received a high priority request from a funding agency to develop a series of proposals to promote world sustainability. She has asked all her staff to reply to her by December 11 with a six page memo (more is fine) that provides suggestions from the choices below. She asks you to choose a single theme:

A Civil Society Organization (CSO, also known as Non-Governmental Organizations or NGOs) response that draws on Learning Objective #1 that includes two parts:

She wants the funding agency to recognize that sustainability is a real possibility and that model public policy, CSO, and businesses exist that promote sustainability. Her goal is to verify that claim. Your providing evidence and sources from your own research (Internet and otherwise) is encouraged.

She has provided background readings in Learning Module # 4 that she wants her staff to draw upon in their response. She will choose only the best proposals to send forward -- and you know that if yours is chosen, you are likely to be offered a permanent position.

The report is due on December 11, counts 25 points, and should include at least six double-spaced pages using 12-point font. She will assess the reports in her familiar way: depth, content (assigned readings and research material), integration, and style. Only the highest scores (equivalent to a B or better) will go forward. She has a few staff openings and only the outstanding reports (equivalent to A) will generate a job offer.
