T.O.M.J. Beis is a webpage of a individual, and not affiliated with any one organization (Chas V'Sholem..lol). I am not a Rabbi or a Posek who can give a sha'alo (determine proper chalocha) on many different types of matters, I will probablly send you to a Rabbincal authority. The webpage used to be called something else and got over 7000 hits in the 1st year, but I felt that I wanted to do something that was more along the lines where haKodesh Boruchu (The Holy Name, blessed be He) has me at these days, time to grow up.
At one point in my life I came to realise that Yeshua of the Bris Chadasha (Renewed Covenant, consisting of Mattisyohu to The Revelation) spoke not of the offshoot(or,replacement) called Christianity, but it spoke of our Moshiach, the Moshaich of Klal Yisroel within Judaism.
I wanted a webpage that showed a more mature Messianic Judaism (BS"D), We should be a Judaism that believes that our Moshiach has allready come, opposed to a hybred mixed with the religion that attempted to do away with Messianic Judaism. I do not judge Christians today because their "ancestors" tried to replace us, and unfortunately many Christians today do not even know their own history concerning this matter, otherwise they would be Messianics not Christians once they found out the truth. (at least the sincere ones would be).
I also refuse to join the Church... Chas v'Sholem. Even the very word "Church" comes from pagan roots, meaning those who woship the goddess Circe' (who's name I wish I wouldin't have to mention, may her name be blotted out forever when Moshiach comes!
There are true believers in churches may Hashem (G-d) show them the truth, these is a blindness on there eyes as to aspects of Yeshua is as well. Yeshua is a Frum Yid.
I'll be the first to admit that Messianic Judaism today is a very fragmented group in many ways due to their lack of Oral Torah and training of leaders, there are many who are just Churches with yarmulkas on, who gave them affiliation I do not know, but may they change and grow to maturity, as may I myself grow and mature to a higher madrega...BS"D (middos are essential). There are some of us out there that believe that the only difference between Messianic Judaism and other Judaisms should be the fact that we believe that Melech haMoshiach has come allready come! Why change religions? Yeshua was (and is) the Moshiach of Judaism.
If you come from a Church background, think of the term "Orthodox Judaism" this way....."fundimental Judaism", opposed to "liberal", there are many different forms of Orthodox Judaism. Modern Orthodox Modern Orthodox dress mainly like the average Joe businessman or woman (but modestly dressed) and the men with tzitzis (tassles) tucked in, or even a man in a black suit and hat, he may even be clean shaven (electric razors only though). Litvish are clean shaven or bearded, with peyes tucked behind the ears , or without peyes.. . Then there are more than two hundred sects of Chossidim (Chosidus was started over 400 yrs ago by The Holy Baal Shem Tov (Z"TL), most with peyes that are not tucked the ears, and sometimes curled , wearing long coats (bekeshas) to the knee and small black hats with upturned brims. Chossidic sects all have there own minhogim (customs). Many non-Jews are under the misconception that all Orthodox Jews are Chossidim, or that all Chossidim are Chabad Lubavitchers, but they are not, there are many sects of Chossidim.
When those who are B.T.(Baal Tshuvah, one who returned), or F.F.B. (frum from birth) realise that Moshiach has allready come, why should we change everything else we believe? ... Because Christianity under the leading of Emperor Constantine did so?...I say "No way!"
Yeshua kept The Torah in "every" aspect... perfectlly, he kept The Torah She Biksav (written Torah), and the Torah she Ba'al Pei (The Oral Torah) which are conceptual teachings given by HASHEM (G~d) that interpret the written torah, and were given "prior" to the written Torah. This was given by Hashem to Moshe Rebbienu (Moses our Teacher) at Har (Mt.) Sanai.
Yeshua even respected minhogim (customs)which each group has, and only argued with the breaking of Torah chalocha which some individuals did, they taught one thing and did another.
They taught Torah and yet broke it. He said however to do what the Rabbis TAUGHT, just not what they did, which was deny him.
Remember though, not ALL of The Rabbis rejected him, some lead Shuls (Synagogues) in the believing community and they were called The Natzerian sect of Judaism, consisting of tens of thousands of Jewish believers all zealous for Torah!... as it says in ACTS.
In Pirkei Avos 2:4
