LONISE GERSTNER

BOOK

Biography

Lonise Gerstner is Brazilian, 42 years old, married, two children, an Internet and traveling lover. She graduated in Computer Science and has worked all her life in this area: programming, system analyst and more recently with Internet.

She loves to communicate and to observe the cultural differences and that as the reason she launched her first book: Paralelo 30 (Parallel 30), which started as a romance in Germany - country where she lived from 1984 to 1990 - and was finished several years later in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

She incorporates (the) Internet to describe the daily life of a mother, which - as many others - divide herself between her children, husband and her own interests. She tries to demonstrate that the truth is relative through her own experiences in different cultures, which always try to understand the human nature. Lonise is not at all resigned with the situation in Brazil and lives a desperate search of a solution for the social and criminal problems.

She writes weekly for Terra Internet portal (http://informatica.terra.com.br/lonisegerstner), advertising magazines and the newspaper Jornal Florida Review (Miami) about the digital daily life.

Her first book, Paralelo 30, can be found in Miami (Books&Books) and in Brazil (Saraiva, Cultura, Laselva, etc.), as well as in the main digital bookstores: www.amazon.com, www.submarino.com.br, www.saraiva.com.br, etc.

Nowadays she is working in a book together with other Brazilian writers living in Miami, to be launched at the Miami Book Fair in November 2004.
