Yedda Macedo Soares was born in São Paulo, on November 27, 1930. Now she lives in Rio de Janeiro.

Has translated, from the Portuguese to the French, the biography of Pedro I, Emperor of Brazil, Independence or Death (Independência ou Morte - Indépendance ou Mort), by ambassador Sérgio Corrêa da Costa, of the Brazilian Academy of Letters.
Has translated, from the Portuguese to the French, Brazil is a Poet (O Brasil é Poeta), a book of poems by Gilda de Souza Campos.

She wrote:
- The Sentinels of God (As Sentinelas de Deus), novel, Razão Cultural, Rio de Janeiro, July, 1997;
- The Merry-go-round (Ciranda), ten short stories, a panel about the life, loves and choices made by Brazilians. Already subjected to the publishers;
