Rear Bonneville Seat Installation by Mike Reily

The inspiration for adding the rear Bonneville seats originally came from David Wambolt. David Wambolts excellent write-up has since reappeared on 9C1.com . Thanks to Bob Lane for pointing this out to me.

I wound up doing things a little differently than Dave and with the help of Dave Belleau and some other friends, got them installed in an afternoon. Basically, for the bottom all you have to do is bend the frame a little to match up with the clips in the Impala floor pan - I did this with 2 pairs for vice grips. Sorry, I don't have any pics of this, but line the two seat bottoms up and you will see what needs to be done.

For the back of the seat, I bent and welded a 1/4" steel rod to the bonny seat hooks to make a cross member like you will see on your Impala back. See the pictures here. It is not too pretty, but now the seat installs like the OE and is easier to remove than if you bolt the back down like others have done. Here are some pictures of the final product.

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions.
