Location: Louisville, Ky. This cemetery contains burials of both soldiers of the Confederate States Army and civilians from the Confederacy who were taken as prisoners of war by the yankees during the War for Southern Independence (1861-1865) and held at a prisoner of war camp in Louisville. Many died here under the horrible conditions and were buried at the POW camp.

Location: on Ky. Hwy 801 near Scotts Creek. The Brown burials here were originally buried in Phillips Cemetery. When Cave Run Dam was constructed, many cemeteries were moved by the federal government, including all those in Phillips Cemetery.

Brown Cemetery
Location: on an island in Kentucky Lake. When the Corps of Engineers built the dam that created the lake, the Brown Cemetery was one of those affected by the rising waters. Some burials in the cemetery were moved to Higgins Cemetery. The cemetery ended up as an island in the lake.
