New Jersey Militia. Enlisted in Essex County in the NJ Militia.

AARON BROWN
Virginia Militia. Born 1757 in Brunswick Co., Va. He served as a Private in the Virginia Militia. He died 1830 in Giles Co., Tn.

ALEXANDER BROWN
Pennsylvania Militia. Lived Bedford County, Pa. 1810.

AMOS BROWN
North Carolina Militia. On 1840 Cherokee Co., NC Census as Revolutionary War veteran, age 84.

ARCHIBALD BROWN
South Carolina Militia. Served as a Private in the SC Militia. He applied for a veteran's pension 28 Mar 1822 while living in Chester District, SC. He was aged 65 ant the time. He stated he enlisted in York District. He had no family.

ARCHIBALD BROWN, Sr.
South Carolina Militia. B 9 Jan 1752 (old style: new, 1753). He served as a Private in the SC Militia. Wife, Mary Deas.

Virginia Militia. Served as Corporal in the Virginia Militia. Wife, Joanna ???.

ARTHUR BROWN
North Carolina Militia. Arthur enlisted in the Pitt County Regiment of NC Militia. He applied for veteran's pension on 1 July 1818.

North Carolina Militia. B 27 Jan 1752. Served as a Private in the NC Militia. [NOTE: Arthur Brown Sr. was the ancestor of our historian and Editor]

North Carolina Militia. B 1751 in Halifax Co., Va. He lived near Salisbury in Rowan County, NC when he enlisted in the NC Militia.

South Carolina Militia. Served in the SC Militia. Wife, Susannah C. ("Susan") Tenant.

CHARLES BROWN
Virginia Militia. Served two years in the Virginia Militia. He later moved to Hopkins Co., KY.

CLAIBORNE BROWN
Service unknown. His heirs applied for a pension but "both parties" died before the pension act was passed; the application was rejected in 1852.

DANIEL BROWN
Virginia Militial. B Dec 1748 in Culpeper Co., Va. Served in the Va. Militia in western Virginia, now part of Kentucky but later returned to Culpeper Co.Wife, Elizabeth Hill.He died 14 July 1833.

Virginia Militia. B Oct 1757 in Bucks Co., Pa. Served as a Private in the Va. Militia.

DAVID BROWN
Virginia Militia and Navy. An application was made in 1849 in Elizabeth City, Va. by his heirs. He died 1798 and never married.

North Caroline Militia. B Dec 1750. Served as a Private in the NC Militia.

North Carolina Militia. On 1840 Census as veteran of Revolutionary War, age 88, living in home of H. Hulgan in Rockingham Co., NC

Virginia State Navy. Served as a Steward in the Virginia Navy. From Gloucester Co., Va.

GABRIEL BROWN
South Carolina Militia (or NC). Served as a Captain commanding a Company of South Carolina Militia. His cousin Jacob Brown Jr. served in his company.

GEORGE BROWN
North Carolina Militia. George lived in Rowan Co., NC when he enlisted in the NC Militia. He later moved to Washington Co., Tn. and later to Union Co., IL. whre he died 10 Dec 1846. Wife, 2nd Mrs. Margaret Sowers.

GEORGE BROWN
Virginia Militia -- Born 1752 in Chesterfield Co., Va. He lived in Charlotte Co., Va. when he enlisted in the Va. Militia. Moved to Washington Co., IL. He died 24 Mar 1842.

Virginia Militia. B 22 Jun 1760 at Hardy Co., VA. Wives: 1st Rebecca Conrad; 2nd Hannah John. He died 21 Sep 1825.

South Carolina Militia. B Oct 1755 in Chester Co., Pa. At age 12, his father moved to Virginia for 6 months, then moved to Turkey Creek, a branch of the Broad River in Chester District, South Carolina. Wife, Nancy ???.

Georgia Militia. B 25 Aug 1763 at Edinburgh, Scotland. He lived at Savannah, Ga. when he enlisted in the Ga. Militia.

North Carolina Militia. B 20 Nov 1752 in Maryland. He lived in Wake Co., NC when he enlisted in the NC Militia.

North Carolina Militia. Listed on 1840 Census as Revolutionary War veteran, age 91, living in Wake Co., NC.

Pennsylvania Militia. Lived in Chester Co., Pa. Served as a Private in the Pa. Militia. Wife Mary ???.

JAMES BROWN
South Carolina Militia. B 1759 in Cumberland Co., PA. and lived in 96 District (Abbeville), SC when he enlisted in the SC Militia. Wife, Luvinia Felton in Dec., 1826. He died 31 Aug., 1846. His widow applied for a bounty land warrant 19 Mar., 1856. William J. Brown stated in a letter from Plumb, Ga. on 21 Aug 1903 that he was the son of James and that his mother had died in 1885.

South Carolina Militia. B 9 Nov 1761 in Chatham Co. He lived in Newberry, Greenville and Pendleton Co., SC; Buncombe Co., NC; then Washington, Gibson, Pike, Dubois and Orange Counties Indiana.
