VIRGINIA CONYERS STAPLETON

JACKSON, Miss.--Virginia Conyers Stapleton died 18 Aug., at the Rankin Medical Center in Brandon, aged 86.

Virginia was born in Marietta, Ga., daughter of Arnold Lee Conyers and Maoma ("Mamie") Gann. Virginia had worked for many years as a nurse. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Gainesville, Fla. She had lived in Georgia and in Gainesville, Fl. until moving to Jackson, Ms. 12 years ago to live with a daughter. She was married to Carl Stapleton, who preceded her in death.

Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Gainesville.

Survivors include daughters, Ann Stapleton Parker, Jackson and Nancy Stapleton Atwood, Houston, Tx.; son, Gilbert Stapleton, Port Orange, Fla.; sister, Alma Conyers Porter, Forest City, NC; 9 grandchildren; one great grandchild.

Virginia was a granddaughter of William Jordan Conyers and Virginia Johnson; great granddaughter of Bennett Hill Conyers and Elizabeth Bowen; gg granddaughter of Ross Conyers and Betsey Denson; ggg granddaughter of William Conyers Sr. and Mary Ross.

KEITH WADE CONYERS

AMELIA, Va.-- Keith Wade Conyers of Amelia died 29 Aug., 1997 at age 45.

Keith was the son of Neal and Joyce F. Conyers.

Burial was in Maury Cemetery here.

Survivors include his mother Joyce of Amelia; sister Melinda Conyers Vance and her husband Warren and sister Joetta Conyers Ingraham, all of Richmond; brother David ("Fess") Conyers and sister-in-law Pam, Amelia; several nieces and nephews.

Dies At Age 92 in Iowa

ONAEWA, Iowa-- Mary H. Conyers died here 27 Dec., 1997, aged 92.

ANNETTE BROWN PEED
Retired Telephone Operator

BUTLER, Ga.-- Valeria Annette (Annette) Brown Peed died 19 Dec., in Talbot County, Ga., aged 68.

Annette was born 13 Dec., 1929 in Seminole County, Ga., the daughter of Ida Mozelle (Mozelle) Alday and James Griggs Brown. She was a granddaughter of Susan Martha Conyers and Sidney D. Alday; great granddaughter of Moses F. J. Conyers and Susan C. Hill; gg granddaughter of Asbury Daniel Conyers and Eliza M.

Annette's family had moved to Columbus, Ga. many years ago. She had worked for Southern Bell Telephone Co. in Columbus until her retirement. She had also worked part-time for Gayfer's Dept. Store in Columbus. Annette was a member of Congregational Methodist Church and the Telephone Pioneers of America. She had moved from Columbus to Butler five years ago.

Burial was in Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus.

Survivors include her mother, Mozelle Alday Brown, Columbus; son, Harold Kyle Folds, Columbus; sisters, Ruby Grace Brown, San Francisco, Ca., Betty Sue Brown Stout, Alpharetta, Ga. and Carolyn Brown Collier, Columbus; and 2 grandchildren.

CLAUDE L. CONYERS
Retired Arkansas Carpenter

N. LITTLE ROCK, Ark.--Claude L. Conyers of North Little Rock, died 30 Aug., age 89.

Claude was a retired carpenter and member of the local Carpenter's Union. He was a member of First Methodist Church of North Little Rock and the church's Ambassador Sunday School class.

Claude was preceded in death by his first wife, Rena, a daughter, Joyce Conyers and three brothers, Clyde, Roy and Newman Conyers.

Burial was in Rest Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in North Little Rock.

Survivors include his wife, Iris Conyers; half-sister, Lillian Hewett; 4 nieces and 6 nephews.
