Simpson Harris Morgan

Simpson Harris Morgan was born about 1821 in Rutherford County, Tennessee. He moved to Texas. He became an attorney for old Memphis Railroad. When Texas seceded from the union and joined the Confederate States of America, Simpson was elected as a Representative to the Confederate States House of Representatives from Texas. in 1864. He died of pneumonia 15 Dec 1864 in Monticello, Arkansas while on his way to Richmond, Va. to a session of the Congress. He was buried in the Simpson H. Morgan Memorial Park, Clarksville, Tx.

Simpson was married first to Emma Adeline Garland and after he death, to her youngest sister, Laura Alexina Garland. He and Laura had two sons and a daughter. He
