ANDREW MORGAN
1824 Ia.

My name is CONNIE L. MORGAN SONNICHSEN. I am the gg granddaughter of ANDREW MORGAN (Dec 1824, in Bloomfield, Ia.). For the last 20 years I have been dabbling with our Morgan family history. I linked to your home page and was intrigued that there is a Morgan Family Club. I searched through your Cemetery and Marriage sites but was disappointed that there was no mention of any Morgan's in Iowa, Oregon, and Washington. I have no record of Andrew Morgan's parents and maybe there is a connection with one of your Morgan's. I hope I can, or someone else can make a connection. I know that our descendants came from Wales. The time in Wales to the time of Andrew's birth in Iowa in 1824 is a blank at this time. I did enjoy reading through your site and hope to someday be reading about my own ancestors in your Morgan Family History page.

Margaret Susan Morgan 1865 Greenbriar Co, WVa.

My mother's paternal grandmother was MARGARET SUSAN MORGAN (4 Apr 1865 in Ronceverte, Greenbriar Co., WVa.) but known in the family as Mary Margaret. Her parents were NOAH R. MORGAN and MARTHA J. BOONE but no other info. The family legend is that we are related to Sarah Morgan, mother of Daniel Boone, [not to Daniel]. I assume this means through her brother. I would be pathetically grateful for any help on this.

I'm searching for info about my gg aunt: ELIZA JANE MORGAN (b NC--d abt 1871) mar WILLIAM E. After both parents died, about 1871, little Robert went to live with his grandparents, Selim & Mary LAWS in Union Co., TN. I have been trying to get more history of my LAWS family. Maybe, through the MORGAN side, I might find more about my LAWS side. We do know Selim and wife Mary were in Iredell Co., NC before the War for Southern Independence. Where is Eliza Jane from in NC? She would have been born abt late 1830s to early 1840s? She may have been living close to Selim Laws and family - meeting William E. Laws and marrying him, there? Would appreciate any help. Thank you.

EDWARD FRANCIS MORGAN
Pa., US Army, WW II

Looking for info on EDWARD FRANCIS MORGAN. He entered US Army in 1943 during World War II, living at Conshohocken, PA. with parents & sister. Reported missing in action abt 1943-1945 in South Pacific area; said to be on Rendova Island. We were to be married upon his return. No trace of him in any government records. This is common with MIA's I'm told. I'm always looking for him, any help would be appreciated. [EDITOR's note: for all those trying to locate records on relatives who served in World War II: the national records center in St. Louis, Mo. was destroyed by anti-Vietnam War rioters during the 1960's (1970's ?) and the military records of US soldiers who served during World War II were destroyed, including those of our Editor's father who was killed in action. There were no copies of most of these records in any other location, so the military records of several million American boys are lost forever.]
