John Henry Saunders was appointed Superintendent of Public Instruction of Hays County, Texas by Judge E. R. Kone in 1907. John was a partner of Saunders and Hughes, Photographers and had a studio in his general store. After his service as superintendent, the family later moved from Wimberly, Tx.
