Ann Sanders was elected Vice Mayor of the City of Arkadelphia, Ar. by the city council in 2001.
B. R. Sanders was elected Mayor of Bells, Grayson County, Texas and was serving in 1888 and 1889.
Charles W. Sanders was elected Mayor of the Village of Waynesville, Warren Co., Ohio in the 1990's. He was a Democratic candidate for the US Congress in 1998.
E. T. Saunders was elected Mayor of West Burlington, Iowa and served from 1904-1905.
Franklin Dent ("Frank") Sanders was elected Mayor of Pensacola, Florida in 1919. He was born 26 Aug 1867 in Barbour County, AL., son of Cicero Marion Sanders (a native of Columbia Co., Ga.) and Lucy Emma Varner. He moved to Pensacola in 1893. He married Ida Anastasia Duval Christie 4 Sep 1899 at St. Joseph Church in Pensacola. They had nine children, all born in Pensacola. Frank's first job was as Chief Deputy under Sheriff George E. Smith, his brother-in-law. Smith was quite ill at the time and relinquished almost all the duties of his office to Frank.
In June 1917, Frank was elected as City Commissioner on the city council of Pensacola. He was re-elected in June 1920 and June 1923. He served at different times as Mayor, Commissioner of Finance and Revenue, Commissioner of Streets and Public Works, and Police and Fire Commissioner, which office he held at the time of his death. Prior to his election to the office of City Commissioner, Sanders served the City as special police officer, Deputy Marshal, City Marshal, and Chief of Police. "His faithful and efficient services in every position that he held merited the esteem and confidence of the people of Pensacola, and gained for him a popularity which was greater than that enjoyed by any other man who had held office in the City of Pensacola during a like period of time," from the Resolution by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Pensacola, 19 November 1925. Frank died in 1925, at age of 58. The funeral was held in his home on Wednesday, 18 Nov 1925. He was buried at St. John's Cemetery.
James Sanders was elected Mayor of Humphrey, Ar. and was serving in 2002.
James (Jim) Sanders was elected Mayor of Fisk, Missouri and was serving in 2000.
Ken Sanders was elected Mayor of the City of Annetta South, Tx. and was serving in 2000.
Kevin Sanders was elected Mayor of Asbury Park, New Jersey and was serving in 2000.
Ray Sanders is currently the Mayor of the City of Lockhart, Texas. He was first elected in 1996 and has served two three-year terms. Ray served in the US Air Force for 9 years and has been in the Air Force Reserve for 16 years. After his military stint, he worked for 26 year as a policeman with the Austin, Texas Police Department. He retired as Assistant Chief of Police. He earned a bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science with a minor in criminal justice from St. Edwards University.
He has served on the Lockhart City Council since 1996. He has also served as Chairman, board of directors of the Hays, Blanco and Caldwell Community Action; chairman of the Capital Area Rural Transportation Planning Organization; as member of the executive board, Texas Police Association; member of the Advisory Board, Home Health Care Central Texas Medical Center; member of the executive board, Capital Area Planning Council; vice chairman of Central Texas Clean Air Coalition; member of the Law Enforcement Education Commission; member of Central Texas Visioning Process Board; past president, Lockhart Evening Lions Club and Austin Founder Lion’s Club; chairman of the Volunteer Firefighters Pension Board; vice president of Region 10, Texas Municipal League; member of Lockhart Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, Texas Police Association and Austin Police Association.
Dr. Ronald D. Sanders was elected Mayor of the City of Trinidad, Colorado and was serving in office in the 1980's.
Sammy Sanders was elected Mayor of Watkinsville, Oconee County, Ga. and was serving in office in 2002. Julie Sanders was City Clerk.
Walter Sanders was elected Mayor of West Wendover, Nevada.
William E. G. Saunders was elected Mayor of Emmetsburg, Iowa and was serving in office in 1918.
I. A. Sanders was elected Sheriff of Multnomah County, Oregon and was serving in 1885.
J. R. Saunders was elected Sheriff of Coryell County, Texas and was serving in 1902.
James Sanders was elected Sheriff of Caswell County, North Carolina and was serving in office in 1790 when he signed the Oath of Allegiance for Public Officers. William Sanders was a Deputy Sheriff under him.
John D. Sanders was elected as the first Sheriff of Williamson County, Illinois in Sep 1839 after the county's creation.
Larry Sanders was elected Sheriff of Gogebic County, Michigan and was serving in 2002.
Richard ("Dick") Sanders was elected Sheriff of Garrett County, Maryland and was serving in 2002.
Chris Saunders was serving as Commissioner and Assistant District Attorney of Bristol County, Massachusetts.
