elcome to the Sanders Family Association's family history section devoted to early marriage records of Sanders - Saunders families. This site is sponsored by the Sanders Family Association, a national, non-profit family club for all descendants of Sanders - Saunders families. They are taken from a wide variety of sources, including information taken directly from county courthouse records, family bibles, published books and magazines, lists sent in by relatives and other sources. In many cases, the dates shown are not the actual date of marriage but rather when the marriage license -- or bond, was issued; this is especially true of older records. These are most likely a marriage "bond", a legal promise to marry the girl and if the marriage did not take place, the man and his bondsman forfeited the bond money. In a few cases, we have listed a "good guess" on marriages when we have been told what county the marriage took place in.

he main purpose of the family club is to gather and preserve our family history. Since one of the most important types of family history documents are marriage records, we urge everyone to help us in gathering and preserving these in our Family Library. If you have marriage records on the Sanders family, PLEASE send copies of these to the Family Club. We welcome xerox copies of actual marriage records as well as hand-copied info. Visit your local courthouses and copy all the Sanders - Saunders marriages you can find. Send this to the family club at the addresses below. Contact your close kin and get info from them on marriage dates. Make xerox copies of this information from your family Bibles.
