Woodham Family Birthdays

This section of the family newsletter is devoted to wishing our relatives a happy birthday. If you know of someone who is a Woodham or descendant of the family who is having an important birthday (10, 20, 30, 40, 50, etc.), let our editor know so we can wish them a happy birthday on this site. Especially for those 50th, 65th, 70th, 75th birthdays and ALL those above 75. This includes spouses, too. If a birthday party is held, let us know the details: how many attended; where all they came from; and if possible, send a photo of the relative and the party for the website.

Happy 99th Birthday, Pearl Creel Woodham

OPELIKA, Al.--Mrs. Pearl E. Creel Woodham will celebrate her 99th birthday 13 May. Pearl is the widow of Eugene Dewitt ("Gene") Woodham, a native of Capp Community in Henry County, Al., who died in 1960.

Pearl was born 13 May 1901 in Barbour County, Al., daughter of Jimmy D. Creel and Maggie Zorn. She and Gene married in 1919. They had three children: James Robert Woodham Sr., Jackson Millard ("Jack") Woodham and Mellie Louise (Louise) Woodham.

Pearl lived for many years in Covington County, near Andalusia, Al. She is now a great great grandmother. She moved to Opelika a few years ago where her daughter Louise lives. Louise married Paul Silas Simmons and is now a great grandmother herself.

Louise's daughter Donna Jean Simmons Simpkins Griffin, became a grandmother in March, 1999, when her son Robert Paul Simpkins and his wife Pattie had a daughter, Natalie Allysa. That means there are now five generations of the Woodham family living in Opelika.

All our best wishes for you Pearl and hope you have many more Happy Birthdays.
