My fourth great-grandfather, Moses Wheeler, b. Gloucester, MA, May 20, 1721, was married to Susanna Norwood, daughter of Joshua, who was a son of Francis the emigrant. I learned of your fantastic site from Rick Norwood, who is the fifth great grandnephew f Susanna Norwood Wheeler. Your talking of Norrod reminded me of my puzzlement at the spelling of an ancestor named Bethshaa Foldier, who married Joseph Pope {Salem VRs). Later I learned that Joseph Pope had married Bethshua Folger and realized it was Foldier as in soldier! (Do you suppose that's the same name, with a Southern cast, as Sister Souljah?) In a deed I saw the word codwaner and it was a day or so before I realized it meant cordwainer. Took me right back to summer vacations in New England when my brother and I, who were g owing up in Pennsylvania, would twit our Boston cousins about "con," as in "ear of ..."
