Scott,

First of all let me introduce myself.  My full name is Norman Coldham-Fussell, hence my interest in the Coldham name.

Coldham-Fussell came about when Ann Coldham married Peter Fussell in 1751 at St. Swithins Church, Winchester.

Peter Fussell was the organist of Winchester Cathedral for much of the late 1700s.

Ann Coldham was the eldest daughter and co-heiress with Mary (Betty had died at age 10) of Peter Coldham.

Peter Coldham was the eldest son of George (Geo.) Coldham who was born 1648, married Mary Vernon (daughter of Sir George Vernon), and died 30 October 1700.  He was buried at St. Andrews Church, Farnham, Surrey.

Unfortunately, I do not have any history prior to George Coldham as my great uncle who traced all of this was primarily interested in the Fussell and Vernon lineage.

I do know that George lived at Waverley Abbey House which is adjacent to the ruins of Waverley Abbey south of the city of Farnham and there are many Coldhams recorded in the Farnham Church in that period 1650/1750, as indeed there are many members of the Vernon and Coldham families buried in that church and yard.

The name Coldham seems to end when Ann married Peter Fussell and the other daughter Mary married John Knight of Farnham.  The other children of George, namely Ric, John and Dorothy appear to have all died in their late teens or early twenties (circa 1680/1689).

I would be interested in any knowledge you have of the Coldham families and particularly any that might associate your Thomas with George or any of the families of Farnham.

From Internet searches I have ascertained that (1) the Coldham name had origins in Surrey before 1100 (Anglo Saxon), and (2) the name was known in Essex, Surrey and Sussex (per the Harleian Manuscripts).

Interestingly from a library search I learnt that a Peter Wilson Coldham published a series of books "Complete Book of Emigrants 1607/1776" thru the Genealogical Publishing Co., Baltimore.  I have not seen that book but it may be of some help to you.

Regards...........................Norman C Fussell
