The photograph of the exterior of Leckhampton Church is a particular favorite of mine. It was a cold, dreary English day. As I set up the shot, the sky suddenly cleared and the sun softly appeared illuminating the front of the church and placing the tombstones in the foreground into shadows.
This is very much as I see our Norwood heritage. To me, our ancestors are symbolized by the shadows on the gravestones. They are asleep within, but due to our research they are not forgotten. Our research brings our ancestors' lives out of the shadows and helps us better understand who we are today.
The light that warms the church brings "light" of knowledge and memories of those who lie within.
