![]() Monday, June 10, 2002 April finished this last weekend in Canton Ohio, went Winners Bitch both days. She needed three points to finish. She got two points on Saturday and one point on Sunday. Points are determined on how many there were for her to compete against and win. Kim said that she showed well, which was a good sign since she has been a little unsure since that bad incident that scared her at the Indiana show last year. (some dummy knocked over a bunch of crates while April was in the ring, scared her to death!!) Now that she is finished, we will probably try to breed her at her next season if things work out. Trying to find a quality wheaten male is the problem. It is hard when you compare them to Jag, because he is so exceptional. Thought you would like to know. Marilyn Tuesday, September 04, 2001 9:47 AM To: Sandy Cooper Subject: APRIL WIN Hi Sandy Just wanted to let you know that April went Winners Bitch yesterday at the Lexington, KY show for a major. She has both her majors now toward her Championship. Marilyn This was April's first show and it was a Specialty which means top Scottish Terriers from all over the area compete. It is considered special as relates to an all-breed show. They have Sweepstakes in the morning. That is where the puppies compete against each other from ages 6 months to 18 months. There are no points involved, but a great way of getting your puppies out in front of other breeders and a breeder judge to see what their opinion is of the puppies. April went second in her class in the 9-12 month bitch class. She showed really well for never having been in a ring before. Dot got to see her in Sweepstakes. I wish she could have stayed for the afternoon class because April really shined. In the afternoon class the puppies compete with the adults for the points going toward their Championship. You have to understand that most times a judge usually does not put up puppies over adults as winners. But this time was the exception.Even though April is not in the best of coat yet. The judge, Dr. Penta, really liked her.April won Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex and won a 3 point major. This means that the Judge, Dr. Penta, in his opinion judged her the Best Bitch in the show ring in the afternoon. And from the 9-12 puppy class she beat all of the puppy and adult bitches at the show. It was a great win and I wish you could have been there to witness it.
