How To Make An Igloo

Follow these steps and make your own igloo.
I am not responsible for any harm or damage caused by this page, build an igloo at your own risk.

1) First you will need to cut out large blocks of hard snow or ice. The blocks should be about 3ft. long by 15 in. high by 8 in deep (1 m. by 40 cm. by 20 cm.)

2) Next you form a circle with the blocks around the hole you created by cutting the blocks. Once you have one circle done you will need to cut it to form a spiral, cut from the top of the first block to the bottom of the last block. This will help you when doing the rest of the igloo.

3) Now you need to build up the walls, overlapping the blocks and shaping them so that they slant inward. You need to cut a hole under the first layer of blocks to form a cold sink and entrance. Place a few blocks along one wall to make a sleeping platform.

4) Place the last block on top of the hole, it must be larger than the hole. From the inside you need to shape and wiggle it to fit into the hole.

5) You NEED to cut ventilation holes in your igloo! Hot air from your body and stove is trapped in the top of the igloo and the cold air is pushed into the cold sink and flows outside.
If you don't cut ventilation holes in your igloo then lethal carbon dioxide will build up and you die.

6) Build a small roof over the cold sink to prevent snow from blowing in. You may also want to line the inside with blankets to prevent your igloo from melting.
