Wilmington Dream Vacation

Introduction

Wilmington, North Carolina is an exciting community to visit. It has many exciting attractions to visit and activities to do. Your job is to plan a week-long vacation to the city Wilmington.

The Task

You will use the resources provided to research the climate, history, shopping, food, lodging, and things to do and see of the city Wilmington, North Carolina. You will then use this information to plan a schedule for your week's (5 days) dream vacation to this southern city. You will also make a budget adding up the cost of your dream vacation.

The Process

  1. Use the resources provided to read about the climate, history, shopping, food, lodging, and things to do and see. You may print off any material you feel is important (1 copy only).
  2. Use the worksheet provided to write down the information required to complete this assignment.
  3. Search the lodging and places to stay links. Choose 3 places that are no more than $80 per night that you think you might like to stay at. Circle the one that you think is the best price.
  4. Search through the food links, choose 15 places that you would like to eat from the Wilmington area List them on your sheet along with 2 or 3 foods that you could order there. Then write which meal you will be eating there along with the day of the week. Choose breakfast, lunch, or dinner and the day from Monday-Friday.
  5. Look through the history sections. List five facts about the history of Wilmington that you found interesting. No more than 2 should be from the same time period.
  6. Search through the Things to Do, Things to See, and Shopping sections. Choose 4 activities for each of the 5 days that you would like to do on your dream vacation. Three of them should be things that can be done during the day and one activity for each evening. You also need to write down prices where the information is available. Write down the day of the week that you intend to do this activity.
  7. Then use this information to fill out the planned itinerary for your week's dream vacation.
