Here's a quick little idea that works for me. I
call it "free motion basting." If you are embroidering a
small item, such as a collar, pocket or anything smaller than your hoop,
hoop your stabilizer, mark the stabilizer and your item for center
placement. Pin the item to the stabilizer matching these
marks. Take the hoop to your regular sewing machine, slip it under
the needle and baste around the item to be embroidered. Remove the
pin(s) and it is now ready for the embroidery. I don't use
sticky stabilizer unless I have to, although I do like the new one--HydroStickâ
as it does not gum up the needle. |
