This is the sewing counter from our other house.
I didn't warm up to this house until I found that we could move it and
it would fit!! Before we started moving it, we removed the
carpeting and laid 18" vinyl tile flooring. Now I can roll my
chairs from machine to machine with ease. |
 |
This room was built for a library, so it does not have
any built-in closets. We bought two large closets with shelves
from Lowe's. One holds my books, and one holds fabric. And
finally, I can have my cutting table out in the middle accessible from
all sides. You can barely see my grandmother's white featherweight
Singer on the chest between the closets. |
 |
This wall holds the computer center and some shelving
that we added on the walls. |
 |
This little area on the south wall shows off my treadle
which belonged to my great aunt and my mother-in-law's Singer Model 99.
The rag rug was made by my step-mother's mother a long time ago. I
am very proud of it. I bought the sewing chair at an antique store
in the '80's. A little drawer pulls out on the side which holds
spools and other sewing items. The window opens to the wet bar
which will be handy when my projects aren't going well. |
 |
Have now added my ironing board. It folds down in
front of the serger, but it was the only wall available. Since I
don't use the serger very often, it works. |
 |
What I like about this board is that it folds up out of
the way when not in use. I had it at the other house and really
loved it. It is shorter than normal, so I make the covers for it. |
