I tried, I really tried, to make a Christmas tree skirt from "scratch," but finally gave up and purchased this pretty gold lame skirt. Using gold metallic thread, I satin-stitched the 12 Days of Christmas squares to the tree skirt. |

These are the beautiful designs done by Lorie Fritsch and Lisa Laufer and can be found on Buzz Tools web site. They are complete to the most minute detail. To section the tree skirt, I stitched a gold ribbon on top of a wider red ribbon using my new Bonfit Ribbon Wizard. It stitches layers of ribbon in one step. |

Just for fun, I made this little angel tree-topper, a design from
Janet Criswell's Easy Stitching for Christmas Collection, for the
little tree in the photo with the tree skirt. Heidi (Aleene's daughter) would
be proud of me for recycling the cylinder from toilet tissue! The angel was
done on one layer of poly organza using gold metallic thread. In fact, there
are two angels here back-to-back attached to the cylinder with double stick
tape. OK, so I'm not a crafter--I'd rather be sewing!
The members of our Embroidery Club each made ornaments for this tree, and we are going to donate it to a rest home. |

Here are two views of my mantle cover very easily made from three cotton napkins folded into triangles and overlapped. As you can see my home is "southwest" and I really prefer "no frills" when it comes to decorating. The designs are Santas from Bobbi Bullard's Christmas Collection. The close-ups below show you the great detail in these designs. |

This first Santa is holding his toy bag. He is done with applique for his robe. I used gold lame. His fur and beard look real. | The middle Santa is done with elaborate fill stitches to create the dimension in his robe. The Merry Christmas trees are included in this set. | The last Santa holding a tree decorated with a metallic gold garland is also done with beautiful fill stitches. Because my napkins were red, I used nontraditional colors for the Santas. |
Well, that's all I have done so far! Hope it gives you an idea or two!
