NAMI Alaska has a grant from the Center for Mental Health Services to develop the Alaska's Young Family Network. This is to be a network of families and professionals who work together to improve mental health services for children at the "system level."

One task is to develop an electronic method of communicating between advocates and professionals, which will be carried out through our web page. We are in the process of developing that web page now at <http://oocities.com/HotSprings/Villa/6745>.

A section of that web page is our long-range or strategic plan. This plan will be issue-oriented. We have completed the youth-suicide issue papers to the extent that they are ready for advocate, professional, and agency review.

We ask that appropriate people in your department review this issue paper. We will welcome your comments, corrections, or suggestions.

Our goal is to improve children's services in Alaska.
