There was a blond-haired young woman who had a dream. She dreamed of destruction, of a world that was going to end. In the midst of all the chaos and despair, a beautiful aquamarine-haired girl in a Sailor outfit appeared and told the dreamer of the coming destruction and of the destiny that awaited the dreamer.

That was how Haruka Ten'ou had first gotten glimpse of the woman known as SailorNeptune. Haruka was afraid to meet her destiny, afraid that the dream would force her to acknowledge a mission that would change her life forever.

Days later, Haruka met the real life version of the Sailor Senshi of her dreams. She had just won a track and field competition and one of her fellow athletes, a girl by the name of Elsa Gray, introduced the pretty artist Michiru Kaiou. Young Michiru wanted to do a sketch of Haruka. She had always wanted to do so. But Haruka testily replied that she refused to be Michiru's model.

In actuality, Haruka wanted to keep away from Michiru. She knew that if she communicated with Michiru in any way, her dream and the mission it foretold would become reality. But she could never escape her fate. They met once again in a cruise ship where Michiru played a sad song on her violin onstage. Haruka was angry that the artist-violinist dared to follow her around and told Michiru to stay away. Haruka had so many dreams and realized that she would be throwing away her dreams if she were to follow her destiny.

It was when a daimon attacked Haruka that she decided to accept her mission as a Sailor Senshi. A pen sheathed in bright lighting appeared. Haruka was about to grab the pen but Michiru, who transformed into SailorNeptune, warned her not to touch the pen if she wanted to keep her normal life. But Haruka had already decided…She was going to take the risk and embrace the turbulent tides of her fate.

The daimon was too much for SailorNeptune alone. Its strength had her flying through the air and landing on the ground with a hard thud. Haruka took SailorNeptune in her arms. SailorNeptune, badly beaten and wounded by the ferocious daimon, managed to gather enough strength to tell Haruka that she had always wanted to meet Haruka. Even before she knew of her birthright as Sailor Senshi, she had dreamed of riding with Haruka on Haruka's lovely yellow sports car.

It was clear, from Neptune's statement, that there was a link that grew between her and Haruka that surpassed the bonds of their mission. They were meant to be together. Like the winds of the sky and the tides of the ocean. Always. Even when later, Haruka denied being jealous of anyone when it came to Michiru, the tenderness she felt for the other girl would always show itself.

After the numerous battles they had fought during the Death Busters' arc, and a baby Hotaru was delivered directly into Neptune's arms, Haruka and Michiru rode away in the yellow sports car. It was then that Haruka looked meaningfully at Michiru and the baby in her arms. Perhaps she was thinking that it was time she admitted to herself how much Michiru meant to her. Perhaps she was silently avowing her love. We can only guess at what she was thinking. But it was apparent that their relationship was already establishing itself on firmer ground. The scene was inspiringly intimate, like a family with bonds that grew stronger with every passing obstacle.

By the time the Sailor Senshi was battling other Sailor Senshi under the command of the legendary Sailor Galaxia, Haruka and Michiru's love had grown in leaps and bounds. They were far more inseparable than they ever were in the past two seasons.

Sailor Galaxia was able to kill them, but the tragedy was lost in the beauty of the scene. SailorUranus and SailorNeptune, with all the strength left in their dying bodies, reached out to each other, as if they couldn't die in peace if they couldn't hold each other one last time. When their fingertips touched, they lost their breaths with smiles upon their faces and faded into the air like so many Sailor Senshi that Galaxia had vanquished.

The original article was entitled The Enchantress Lover, which has undergone a lot of changes since it's first concepton in 1997. The manuscript was based entirely on the anime because in the anime Haruka's devotion remained on Michiru even when she shamelessly flirted with other women. Haruka's manga persona, on the other hand, often fantasizes about Usagi, and is actually secretly dreaming that she would spend the rest of her life with the Moon Princess. But it's only a fantasy. Haruka's loyalty still lies with the Royal Moon Kingdom Family. The manga version of Michiru deeply cares for Haruka and even understands Haruka's unusual affection for Usagi.

The MIDI that you are currently listening to is the background music that played when Haruka and Michiru were holding hands during the time when they got a message from Death Busters Witch Eudial that the witch knew where the Heart Crystals (Talisman sources) could be found. It was a moment of sadness as well as comfort because Haruka felt that her hands had been dirtied enough from all the cruelty that she has done in her quest to retrieve the talismans. Michiru, sensing Haruka's agony, took Haruka's hand and told Haruka that she had always loved Haruka's hands.

In episode 200, after Usagi defeated and had Sailor Galaxia reverting to her old good self, all of the Sailor Senshi were revived, including Haruka and Michiru. The ending was a tear-jerking moment. Haruka and Michiru were able to get what they had always wanted. Each other. Forever.
