Ne, Setsuna-San?

Closer…closer…closer…

My hand trembled in anticipation and a little bit of fear as it clutched at the stick that controlled the direction of the helicopter. I could see the massive red glob composed of a multitude of daimon covering the entire building that used to be our school. I could see the star on top of that glob, the opening that we were looking for. It was the only way that we could get into the Death Buster's headquarters before everything was too late.

Neptune's excitement and mine were muffled. There was no clue as to the pounding of our hearts. We were very near our final destination and we must be very careful.

You sat at the back, quietly contemplating our fates and the fate of the entire world. It wasn't the first time that you silently stood behind my back, supporting whatever it was that I had decided for us to do, even when you didn't feel like I made the right decision.

Sometimes I do not know how I should see you. I do not know how you perceive me. You would think I'm too cruel, to my enemies—and even to my friends—and yet somehow you understood every bit of my being. Somehow you understood…

…Because you also had to be, at some point, cruel yourself—even when you did not want to. It is our fate, our destiny, and our decision—all intertwined to make us what we are.

I recall moments during the time when our team and the Inner Planet Senshi worked separately. I did the talking, warning the Senshi to stay away and leave our duties to us Outer Planet Senshi. Only I could do what we had to do in such a heartless manner. I turned my back on the weaker Senshi and did not even look to see if you and Neptune were following behind me.

I saw no need to turn around and see for myself. I knew that you and Neptune were wearing the same forlorn expressions. Regret. Such heavy duties placed upon feminine shoulders…

…Something heavy and explosive hit the helicopter. We had been discovered! We all screamed in fear and in pain, thinking we are all going to be killed before we even reached our destination.

Suddenly, a flash of blinding light appeared and everything went still. You were floating, holding your garnet staff in the regal manner that only the Guardian of Chronos' Gates could do. Surprise etched itself on my face. You had stopped time. I didn't know you had that kind of power.

Such cruel powers that bound you to loneliness. That was the kind of powers I knew you had, but never this kind of power. This power bound you to death. But I didn't realize that at first. It was at that moment you smiled so lovingly at us…A farewell smile, the kind a dying mother or older sister would give to the loved ones that would be left behind.

With the last of your powers you teleported us into the barrier, just before the helicopter could explode. With the explosion came the dawning. You were no longer with us.
