90-3: Sandy Dandy X Whirlwind Romance. Produced a striking array of colors and patterns, most with the characteristic rounded form of Whirlwind Romance. Several are still under consideration for introduction, but 90-3-19 has already made its debut as Point Well Taken.

90-11: Mohric Art X Boaz. Another experiment with "3/8-breds", which produced few seedlings even using seed culture, but two striking selections. Sibling #90-11-3 was introduced as Mohric Butterfly, the other is still under evaluation.

90-15: Hunt's 14-4-R-POH-2: (Fourteen for Rachel x Pride of Haifa) X Unknown. A striking end to a sad tale. The pollen parent was purchased as Syrian Sunset, When I compared the flower with the Checklist description it was close enough it didn't raise any alarms, but its breeding behavior was not what I'd expected. When I finally saw a photograph taken by the hybridizer, I realized that the one I'd acquired had been mislabeled. I tossed almost all of its offspring, but 90-15-1 was simply too good to destroy so it's been registered as Damfino.

90-19: Werckmeister's Beauty X Whirlwind Tour. Werckmeister's Beauty put on quite a display in 1990, so I was able to set a number of pods with Whirlwind Tour and by culturing the seeds raised almost a full bed to bloom-size. These proved exceptionally gardenable so several selections have already been introduced: 90-19-4 = Quincinera; 90-19-8 = Nonconformist; and 90-19-14 = Flash of Violet.

90-29: Unknown White-ground Plicata X Whither Thou Goest. The pod parent was purchased as Eskimo Harbor, but after I'd made the cross I was making my usual rounds with the Checklists to verify IDs and realized it had been mislabeled. The cross did, however, result in a number of interesting offspring. Sibling # 90-29-1 opens with aril-like veining that fades to a plicata-like pattern. I introduced it as Quick Change Artist. Sibling # 90-29-16 is variegated, the blue of old-fashioned granite cookware, so it became Granny's Granite Pot.

90-36: Brandy Sipper X Sunrise in Glory. An information-gathering cross, from the days of trying many different arilbred patterns with a variety of plicatas. Although sibling #90-36-2 was not a striking breakthrough, it was quite good by conventional standards so it was introduced as Old Times Sake.

90-37: Soul Kiss X Whirlwind Romance. Conventional wisdom has it that it's futile to cross near-arils with TBs, but my experience says otherwise. Whirlwind Romance has proven to be more effective with halfbreds than TBs, but in this case produced the striking #90-37-8, which I registered as Raring to Go.

90-59: Deborah's Song X Turkish Tangent. One of many crosses made in search of better, more sunfast reds. Sibling # 90-59-10 wasn't exactly what I envisioned when I made the cross because its smoky overlay obscures the red, but it's certainly an eye-catching flower and the plant is excellent so it became War Drums.

90-65: Wished for Child X Gene's Little Secret. Another cross from my program in quest of fertile arilbredmedians, which produced a large number of uniformly good seedlings. Because the real GLS produces a wide variety of novel seedlings, ranging from terrible to excellent, this suggests that the parent used in this cross was the imposter sib. When I registered #90-65-9 as Sandstone Rose, I designated it a quarterbred.
