ARDRUN (H.M. McLeod, 1954). A blend of rose-purple and mulberry shades from Artemis X Gudrun. It has been counted as a 44-chromosome amphidiploid, but is a "Bypassed Breeder" with relatively few registered offspring. 

Although Ardrun appears to be the source of the korolkowii-type growth pattern of modern arilbreds, introduced to the lines of many different hybridizers through Esther, the Queen, I do not believe that its potential was fully explored because it was introduced during the period the C.G. White amphidiploids burst on the scene. More interesting things could come from it or its descendants, usedit with newer arilbreds. In the following pedigrees, links to Ardrun are shown in red

AMETHYST BUTTERFLY (Henry Danielson, 1981). S purple; F reddish tan, black signal; tan beard. Big Black Bumblebee X Ardrun.

ARDIMAC AB (Eugene Sundt, 1960). S violet-purple; F maroon, black signal and beard, haft and styles veined. From Ardrun X Ib-Mac. Only sibling introduced from a cross that reportedly produced several good breeders.

CHECK ME OUT AB (Henry Danielson, 1981.) S rose; F slightly lighter, V-shaped signal of brown; brown beard. From Big Black Bumblebee X Ardrun. Fertility tests suggest that it's a functional halfbred.

DOVE SONG AB (Lin Flanagan, 1967). S very pale violet; F pale violet heavily overlaid dove-grey, small beet-red signal, dark beard. Kalifa Fatima X Sundt 5631-O: (Ardrun x Ib-Mac).

ESTHER, THE QUEEN AB (Eugene Hunt, 1968). S wisteria blue, deeper veins, blended willow green at base, brown at claw; F willow green, blended erythrite red, dotting by black beard on black-maroon spot paling to brown as it blends to willow green. Ardimac X Kalifa Gulnare.
