Joppa Parrot 

AB (Clarence G. White, 1948). S light mauve, streaked mulberry; F bronzy gold, patterned cinnamon-red and yellow, and streaked mulberry black. Broad, onco-like golden-bronze beard. Probably no longer extant, but there is now an imposter in distribution that can be distinguished by its more modern style of beard.

Parentage unknown, but counted as a 44-chromosome amphidiploid and analysis of White's records suggests that Joppa Parrot as the most likely progenitor of the original set of registered amphidiploidlike hybrids, even though exact pedigrees are not available. Because it was introduced at a time when there were few other fertile arilbreds available, most of its registered offspring were 1/4 aril or less. AMERICAN MODERN AB (Tom Craig, 1951). Blend of olive-ochre veined and washed with reds. Gay Senorita X Joppa Parrot.

ASOKA OF NEPAL AB (Clarence G. White by Lena Lothrop, R. 1950). Lavender, olive-ochre, purple blend. Counted as a 44-chromosome amphidiploid. from an analysis of White's records, Tom Wilkes reported the pedigree as Joppa Parrot X B-46.

CORONATION TAPESTRY (Tom Craig, 1953). S rose-dust blended through maroon to old gold at midribs; F travertine washed and blended coronation purple. Gay Senorita X Joppa Parrot.

TB

EBBTIDE (Tom Craig, 1957). S pale chartreuse-yellow; F seafoam yellow to near white, pale chartreuse-yellow at margins. (Char-Maize x (Joseph's Mantle x Rich Raiment)) X (Mariposa Mia x (Mt. Washington x Joppa Parrot)). 1/16 onco, this qualified as an arilbred until the quantum requirement was adopted.

EMERALD FANTASY (Harry Tate by Donald Shepard, R. 1983). Creamy lavender ground with heavy webbing of rich dark purple, solid up midrib of standards, black signal with greenish cast; black beard; burgundy-red style arms; slight fragrance. (Joppa Parrot x Beisan Aga) X I. korolkowii, ‘Green and Brown'.

FIESTA QUEEN (George Murray, 1956). Golden tan blend; yellow beard. (Appointee x Grand Marshal) X Joppa Parrot.

FLAIRMOHR (Tom Craig, 1954). Violet-toned bitone of cool grey, veined grey-violet. (Purissima x Joppa Parrot) X Capitola.

GOLDEN JOPPA (Jack Linse, 1958). S creamy white; F medium straw yellow, green at center; darker beard. ((Extravaganza x Red Torch) x sib) X Joppa Parrot.

GREEN DUCHESS (Lloyd Austin, 1966). S light yellow with light green veins; F chartreuse, leaf green veins, hafts yellow with bronzy green veins. Slick Chick X Joppa Parrot.

JALLAH ad-DIN (Clarence G. White, 1955). Cinnamon drab, olive yellow and red blend. Joppa Parrot X B-46.

Quarterbred

JUNGLE DRUMS (Gordon Plough, 1956). S greyed lavender splashed light brown; F buff heavily splashed deep purple. (Purissima x Capitola) X Joppa Parrot.  Considered a 3/8ths-bred in its day, but as I've found no record of offspring and it looked more like a quarterbred to me, that's how I've classified it here.

PHOSPHORESCENT (Tom Craig, 1951). Blend of yellows to brown-madder. Originally distributed as FOXFIRE, but as that name was not available it was registered as PHOSPHORESCDENT. Gay Senorita X Joppa Parrot.

PURPLE PARROT (H. V. Slamova and Wm. Hawkinson, R. 1957). S deep purple, deeper veins and brown-henna striations; F deeper purple, almost black veins and signal with green-black iridescence. Fair Enough X Joppa Parrot

RED JOPPA (Lloyd Austin, 1959). . S light crimson veined darker; F same with red flush below black signal at end of gold beard. Maytime X Joppa Parrot

Halfbred

SARACEN WARRIOR (Mark Rogers, 1968). S violet heavily veined darker; F white underground heavily veined and dotted dark violet at haft, becoming solid overlay on lower portion, almost black in area below beard. Dark violet-brown beard on white, style arms violet. Tawny Empress X (Beisan Aga x Joppa Parrot).

TRUE GOLD AB (Lloyd Austin, R. 1960). S light gold-buff; F gold-buff. Palomino X Joppa Parrot.

TURKEY WHITE (Glenn Timbs, 1969). Pure white self, narrow yellow beard, blue-white buds. ((Bird of Dawning x 52B) x ((Spindrift x Isabellina) x Joppa Parrot)) X Ben Ahdem.
