Esther, the Queen X Sheik

There were two goals:

 

Concentrating doses of the t-factors for future line-breeding. (Esther, the Queen had been shown to carry it by crosses to TBs that produced tangerine pink quarterbreds and Sheik was known to have inherited from its grandparent, Pink Formal.)

 

Testing maternal inheritance by reciprocal crosses.

None of the seedlings from the reciprocal cross were worth keeping, but one from this cross was my first 1/2-bred introduction.

In those days, I numbered and photographed only those seedlings that I selected for further evaluation. Here are the final four contenders:
