Identification: Semi-metallic cheetah

Comments: Another re-release of Cheetor even though Transmetal Cheetor's can be found with relative ease.

Out of the horror movies right into Beast Wars, Cheetor is re-reborn as a monstrous mutant cheetah. Wolfang or K-9 are probably more deserving of this Transmetal 2 mold, but Cheetor got to it first. The main difference between him and the prototype pictures is the paint job. He's missing the brown shading, so he is mostly yellow with gray and blue metallic accents. Aside from the lack of brown, he's pretty true to the pictures.

Like the other Transmetal 2 Deluxe figures he has rubbery material that can also be found on Todd McFarlane figures. These areas would be his tail (which can be removed in either mode) and for some reason the blades on the back of his front legs. The top of his cheetah head is designed after the same area on the original Transmetal Cheetor.
In robot mode, the rocket launcher comes off of Cheetor's back and can be place in his hands. Instead of a regular gun handle, there are four spikes coming out of his gun, three of which he hold onto with a thumb that is designed very closely to Optimal Optimus'. His robot head seems to be a combination of Cheetor's old robot heads and Fuzor Silverbolt's robot head.

On its own Transmetal 2 Cheetor is a great figure. However, many people may not be able to over look the fact that he is the third release of Cheetor.
