Blaster

Alliance: Autobot
Identification: Autobot Communicator
Year released: 1985
Accessories: electro-scrambler gun

Comments: Blaster was the Autobot's variation of the communicator/radio deck. He's around to battle Soundwave on the Decepticon side. He's a nice figure with a great transformation and design. However, he's not quite as good as Soundwave making him average as a whole.

The first thing you'll notice about Blaster in comparison to Soundwave is that he is all plastic. While still looking good, he is missing that die-cast metal luster from the early '80's figures. He also is missing the articulation Soundwave has making him very "un-poseable". However, he is still durable and fun to play with. His deck mode looks slick with a handle and speaker features. The door opens via one of the silver buttons on his front panel. One thing to note....this is the piece which usually breaks on the loose figures.

The transformations are very unique. You pull apart the handle, flip around the legs, and perform a few other tricks. His robot form is nice but a bit plain. The door also works in this mode and the figure comes with a HUGE blaster (get it...blaster)...

Blaster comes "figure-only" and does not include any cassettes (however, there are plenty of Autobot cassettes and they can fit in his front compartment). He is overall a very nice figure. While the other boom box Soundwave beats him in quality and design, Blaster still holds his own. "Look out and shout.......OWWW'.

"When the music is rockin', I'm rollin'."

Finds all Earth music interesting, but it's rock n' roll - good, hard and loud - that really sparks his circuits. In the forefront of any situation he's involved in. As AM/FM stereo cassette player, he can perform as deck plus receive radio signals of all frequencies with power outputs as low as 1/1,000.000 watt. Acts as Autobot communications center...can transmit up to 4,000 miles. Carries electro-scrambler gun that disrupts electrical devices.
