Comments: All figure completists cringe at the sight of Cheetor. The one you see above is the original "rock bubble" first release version of Cheetor. This particular one was released with blue eyes in beast mode. However, the second release (released during the second wave) had "red eyes" and was on a "soft bubble" card. But wait......there's more!!! There was a third release just recently on a newer card with "soft bubble" and this one has green eyes. Just like the G2 Dinobots, I must add a scream here...AHHHHHHHH. Luckily I don't collect figure variations (unless they're exclusive like Botcon recolors). Ok.....where was I.....Cheetor is a pretty descent figure. Even though I'm really not that impressed with either of his forms, he does add a nice touch to any collection.

This particular cheetah is yellow with tons of black spots. Very detailed in beast mode. In robot form he shows a little more of the blue but still remains yellow. As I mentioned before, the original had blue eyes in beast mode. The second releases had red and the third release has green (which is geared more toward the look of the TV counterpart).

Transforming Cheetor isn't too difficult. However, it does make you feel as if you got your money's worth! Cheetor has two secret weapons. One is the tail which becomes a barrel gun for his one hand. The other is from his stomach which detaches to become a weapon for his other hand. However, this particular weapon is a water squirter. And it works too!! Nice choice of hidden weapons.

Cheetor is definitely a nice piece. I am not as impressed with him as I am with later models from the Beast Wars line. But he definitely deserves a place on any BW shelf!!! Keep in mind that each Cheetor (from every release) is exactly the same figure (that includes transformation and gimmicks). The eye color and difference in packaging design being the only variation among the three. Well......I guess that's it!!!




Like a bolt of greased lightning, Cheetor strikes fast and strikes hard. Quiet and confident with incredible reflexes, he is equally efficient when battling in robot mode or in his artificially enhanced organic earth form. Cheetor constantly stalks the jungle in search for Predacon enemies, daring them to challenge him and his laser-powered quasar cannon!
