Identification: Velociraptor

Comments: Since Dinobot was part of the very first releases, he was released on a "rock bubble" package (see packaging designs for more info and above pic). The newer release is on a "soft bubble" card which you can see on second year releases. Each one of the designs is nice but the very first release has a slicker look (and is therefore a variation which I do not collect)!!!

I like the Dinobot figure. Not only because he's a pretty popular character from the television show, but because both of his forms look nice. The detail on the Velociraptor and the robot forms are very nice and worthy of a purchase (if you can find him).

In beast mode, he is a purplish color with black stripes down his back. He has white teeth, yellow eyes, and a transparent orange chest. He looks quite convincing and nice!!!

Being a "Deluxe" figure, Dinobot is a manual transforming figure. You pull off his tail, flip around legs and arms, open feet and head, then swing around his claws. BINGO.....robot form. While I'm not a fan of claws for hands, Dinobot holds it pretty well. Especially since his weapons fit nicely into them and don't look goofy. His tail opens up and reveals a sword. The sword goes in the one hand. Then....the tail becomes a spinning slasher weapon for the other hand. Quite cool gimmicks.

I like the Dinobot figure (duh?). He's pretty unique and one of the nicer figures from the first year. He has a nice structure and a wonderful robot form. Give him a try!!

As if torn from the pages of earth's prehistoric past, a vicious velociraptor breathes again! But Dinobot is no ordinary 'raptor, he's a robot in disguise battling beside his heroic teammates, the Maximals! Armed with a spinning cyber-slash tail weapon and always hungry for battle, Optimus Primal considers him a natural combat expert who has clawed his way to the top one victory after another!
