Comments: I remember when the first series of Beast Wars figures arrived at the store. Among them were mostly carded figures of which I picked up. They didn't impress me much. However....one day I remember walking through Hills Department Store and passing the Beast Wars section. There sitting in front of me were boxed BW figures. WOW! They were in boxes with awesome "see-through" windows. Boy that brought memories back. I always thought the boxes used on the G1 stuff was the best and the fact that boxes were used once again forced me to buy them. Actually Scorponok was one of the very few figures that impressed me from the first year. He has an excellent transformation, slick design, and just the right amount of gimmicks!

First thing you'll notice is Scorponok's color scheme. He's a slick black on his main body with red on his legs. His claws are silver and his stinger is a blue with red on the tip. Looks very nice!!! In robot mode he's mostly a dark black and shows only a touch of the red.

The transformation is fairly simple but you may need the instructions on the first try. His head splits, waist rotates, and a few other twists and turns. Once in robot mode you'll notice his stinger stands straight up. Quite slick!!!

The first two boxed items (Polar Claw and Scorponok) tried the "transformable weapon" technique. In the case of Scorponok he has a bee in his one claw. Once shot out it does a flip and transforms to bee mode. It is quite neat to see although it doesn't shoot very far! He also has a missile launcher in his other claw that is quite cool! However....the neatest gimmick (as mentioned above) would be his stinger action. The stinger actually lunges out at the enemy. You press a little lever at the top and it makes a thrusting motion. Quite awesome!! One thing I will mention....all of Scorponok's attack features can be used in both insect and robot mode. Definitely worth the price!!

As I mentioned Scorponok comes in a box with the awesome "See-through" window. He is strapped to a yellow insert. Inside the box is a package with two red missiles, instructions sheet, and a Kenner/Hasbro catalog.

Scorponok is definitely a worthy purchase. His uniqueness in design, gimmicks, and transformations make him a winner!! Scorponok.......Terrorize today!!!
