Identification: Pterodactyl

Comments: Since Terrorsaur was part of the very first releases, he was released on a "rock bubble" package (see packaging designs for more info and above pic). The newer release is on a "soft bubble" card which you can see on second year releases. Each one of the designs is nice but the very first release has a slicker look (and is therefore a variation which I do not collect)!!!

A mildly detailed figure, Terrorsaur still looks good. He resembles his television counterpart very well. He also has a slick bright red color scheme that really stands out among the rest.

You'll notice in Pterodactyl mode that he is mainly a "fire-engine" red. He has some small green dots down his back, head, and wings. A pretty nice color scheme. He's pretty convincing as a Pterodactyl.

He is part of the first releases so he has the "automatically transformation" group. You pull up his Pterodactyl head/beak and he springs into robot form. Being his robot head is the secret weapon. It flips over and becomes his blaster. In robot form he looks quite nice. His legs are a bit flimsy but still keep the figure up and posed.

The popularity of Terrorsaur is obvious.....he's in the television show. He definitely is not the most detailed of Beast Wars figures. However, it is a worthy piece in any collection. One thing they should have added: the shoulder rockets should snap into place (sort of like Optimus Primals do) to match the rockets in the television show. Very minor complaint though.

Striking from the sky like a demonic dragon, this organically enhanced robot warrior is seldom seen...until it's too late! Megatron personally supervised his genetically engineered creation, ensuring his devastating aerial combat efficiency. Truly a terror, he is known to ingest entire flocks of birds by flying opened mouthed through their flight pattern.
