Comments: Who could ever forget the cassettes? If you knew who Soundwave was, you knew that he was in possession (being that he was a tape recorder) of Decepticon cassettes. Each of these cassettes changed from their tape mode into some sort of robot or other form. In this particular case, we have Frenzy and Laserbeak, two of the five cassettes released the first year of the Transformers (the fifth being Buzzsaw who came with Soundwave). Both of the figures are excellent in design and color. While they suffer from breakage (as all the cassettes), new ones shine bright.

Frenzy is a blue cassette. His arms pop out from the top, legs fold down, and body twists. Transformation is simple but weighed nicely in comparison to the figure's small size. The limbs are very small and very fragile (making him tough to stand and easy to break). However, his robot mode is very nice. He has two backpack/blaster that fit on his back. He can also use them as weapons. Frenzy is a nice figure. Please note: in the cartoon series, Frenzy was red not blue. His brother Rumble was blue in the cartoon (as was in the show more as well).

Laserbeak is a well known character. He was shot out by Soundwave on recon and surveillance missions all the time. He transforms from cassette to hawk. His transformation is identical to Buzzsaw (shown here with Soundwave). Flip out the wings and head and pull down the legs. His backpack blasters are really nice and add to the figure's appeal.

Together, Frenzy and Laserbeak make a great pair. Their robot/hawk modes are very nice and unique. The cassette forms are colorful and realistic. All in all......an A+ set!!

"The only point I like in Autobots: melting point."

Laserbeak takes pleasure in hunting his prey - usually the straggling survivors of a battle. Noticeably not brave. Will run for safety if threatened. Flies at speeds up to 250 mph. Uses two independently targetable laser cannons with extreme precision to get information from captives. Shortage of ruby crystals that powers the lasers can panic his systems into shutting down.

FRENZY

"Sow panic and surrender will bloom."

If Frenzy needed to breath, war would be his oxygen. He knows no cause, only craves to spread fear and destruction. His efforts are appreciated by other Decepticons. His devotion to warfare makes him hard to deal with on a personal level. Can roll his drums to produce high-pitch, grating sound of 200db. Disorients and disrupts electrical flow in opponent's circuitry which makes them malfunction. Physically weak. His maniac attack can be countered with cool logic.
