Hound
Alliance: Autobot
Identification: Autobot Scout
Year released: 1984
Accessories: 3 missiles, hologram gun, poseable machine gun, gas can, spare tire
Comments: Good old Hound. The guy who came with pieces that you would lose in an instant. "Now where the hell did I put that gas can and spare tire?". However....he was a slick jeep in his own way and an excellent addition to the Autobot car selection!!
Obviously he's mainly a green jeep. He has gold stripe accents and silver plating. He also has rubber wheels and is made out of "die-cast" metal!! His windshield stands straight up as does the back seats. Nice vehicular mode.
His robot form is also nice but less attractive. You do a few pretty well timed transformational steps and you're all set (when you flip the wheels to the back, his arms emerge from the sides...neat effect). He's a little smaller and dorkier looking in robot form than many others from the first year of figures. But definitely a nice display piece nonetheless!!!
Hound is very slick. He has a nice glossy color scheme and wonderful transformational steps. One thing I did notice on loose figs, there is always a large amount of sticker wear. This would be due to the fact that the stickers are placed very close to the joints. When you transform Hound, the pieces tend to rub up agaist the stickers fading and scraping them a bit. Small problem though for Hound is a wonderful piece!!!
HOUND loved the natural wonders of Earth, prefers it to Cybertron. Brave, fearless, loyal. Secretly desires to be human. Uses turret gun as radar scope, infrared radiation collector. Tracks machines as well as humans. Hologram gun projects 3-dimensional grid laser-light topographical maps. Vulnerable to thermal and eletromagnetic interference.
