Transformers Memories! (A - C)
Back in 1984, I used to live in a neighborhood that was literally obsessed with Transformers. I had an uncle who was 4 years older than me and he had all of the connections. I looked up to my uncle as some sort of role model. It was he who got me into transformers. He'd bring some home and he'd let my brothers and I play with them. Soon, we were getting up early to watch the cartoon show. I remember one Halloween that I went trick or treating as Megatron. My uncle went as Optimus Prime. I'll never forget that night. It was absolutely terrific! I collected transformers until I was in 5th grade. After that, it just faded away. I'd give my transformers away, which I truly regret, and I stopped watching the show. When the G2 series came out, my interest in transformers rekindled. I searched long and hard for the original toys once again. I managed to gather quite a few of them before my interest dwindled away once again. I still have some transformer shows on video tape and I watch them frequently. I still love the transformers and I would love to relive the good old days.
-----------------------------------------------------
Actually, my favorite memory is of when I was in grade 4. The guys in my class introduced me to these fun transformable toys.
That got me hooked: I wanted to learn all their names, personalities, and transformations. I remember spending nearly every
lunch hour playing with the boys, while other girls looked on amidst their silly girl games. At that time, I didn't realize what an
impact Transformers would have on my life. I realize now (at age 20), because when I see the old line of Transformers, it
brings back memories and moments of a time where I had few worries in the world.
-----------------------------------------------------
My first memory of TFs was when I was about 4, in 87 I guess. My dad had just gotten back from the airport, and he handed
me a Slag. This was my first TF. I thought it was so cool. After that, the only toys I bought were Transformers. Another
memory that really stands out is when I got a Swoop for Hannuka. I refused to read the instructions, and snapped the head
off! I'm still trying to fix it. I always used to get a lump in my throat whenever I saw Optimus die in the movie. Me and my
parents searched all over for a G1 hook to complete my Devastator, but never found one. ::sniff::
-----------------------------------------------------
Well I would have to say unlike everyone else my memory is from tonight. Not that I don't have stories from when I was little,
but this night is one that I will remember. I was simply searching around for a background for a web page and somehow found
a transformer site. After five minutes I was blown out of my mind. WOW I never knew there were other people who still liked
transformers! I completely by accident found this ring/transformer site. WOW I am blown back. This is so cool. Every week
the the local video store used to have a free kids video you can rent. And every week I go down there and rent it. :-) No one I
know is interested in transformers (well they might have had it when they were young or something). This is very cool. Way
cool. I still have all my old transformers. I used to get up at 6:30 in the morning (and that was when I was 6!!) to watch it.
Someone please e-mail me so we can talk. I am blown away. wow. This is so cool. This is cool. That is all that I have to say,
way cool. WOW this is coming back to get me. I completely forgot about transformers. Now I found a entire world out there.
Uncomprehensible

I'll never forget my childhood and all the toys I had. He-Man, Star Wars, and of course those awesome
Transformers. Transformers were one of my favorite toys to have (although I did find them more awkward to play with than
my G.I. Joe figures). I originally purchased these, what at the time seemed like expensive toys, because I liked the cartoon
which started out in the early Saturday mornings before going to five days a week. Later as I got in Jr. High (1987) I
continued to purchase the toys not really for play but because I had to have them all. I guess it was a denial thing with losing
my childhood. Anyways. I just thought I would search into my past, so to speak, on the web. Here are some comments. I
like the original cartoon the best. When they were always in the desert type locations and used teletran one as their base.
Later, around year 3 for sure, the series got away from these original great ideas. Oh also the drawings began to suck. Not to
mention after the Movie came out the next years season had some of the worst drawings I had ever, with the exception of
one show, seen as well as plots. The movie destroyed me. I saw the movie while on vacation in summer 86. I remember kind
of crying because all the robots were killed so easily. Especially Prime. He was my favorite. I was so angry and confused I
didn't know what to think. I couldn't understand why they would kill off such great characters. now I do. It was for more
money. So they could sell more toys. Shame on Hasbro. Anyhow, Thanks for reading.

I don't really remember the day or the year but... I remember tuning on the TV when I was between the age of 6-8. I came apon a channel that had a big red and blue robot that turned into a 18 wheel truck. After I saw that, I saw other robots turn into different cars. When I got my first transformer, it wasn't an Optimus Prime (My all-time favortie TransFormer) but, it was Scattershot (One of the Technobots) but it still made me happy. I still have it today, mint condition (now a collector's item along with my other autobots....I only collected autobots). I wish that they would show the TV show again. I still like that show.
-----------------------------------------------------
I remember in 2nd or 3rd grade when the Transformer series first came out, and the first one I (my parents actually) bought was Prowl (always had a "thing" for police toys). After that I held rummage sales to get rid of all my other toys (He-Man, GI JOE, and stupid me, Original Star Wars) to buy more Transformers. By the time I stopped just before they released the "pseudo Transformers" (Micro Bots, Pretenders, Action Masters, etc). I had all but 4 of the Transformers, but above all Prowl was da' man. I remember renting the movie (never got to see it in Theaters) and holding on to Prowl. When the scene in the transport came when the Decepti-creeps over ran the ship and Prowl was blasted....it was the longest 2 second scene in the movie...HOW COULD THEY DRAW OUT PROWL'S DEATH LIKE THAT? When his eyes blew out, I remember clutching the Prowl in my hand (stupid me again) and broke the roof/back piece of the figure. I was in a depression for a month. To this day, I can't believe they still put out "new" Prowl figures...and to add him to the Action Master line is blasphemy. Well...Lets see how the new Beast Wars Prowl/Owl figure will turn out >:I

I remember, It was Easter and I was waiting for the easter bunny to leave our gift and chocolate on the table .(Of course I
knew the easter bunny didn't exist ) so as soon as I heard my father get up to leave the stuff on the table, I waited as he went
back to sleep and, ZOOMMM!!! I went in the kitchen and discovered, Ultra Magnus (I fell in the tf universe pretty late but i
guess it's normal 'cause in 1984 I was 2 and I fell in love with tf's when I was 4). I jumped right on him and ripped the box
open ( damnit, if I would have known the value that thing would have now I woudn't have done it). I also ripped the styrofoam
apart and transformed it, my 1st tf was now in its robot form. Now a sad one, around three years ago , when I was 12, I tried
to convince myself I was no longer hooked to the tf's, witch was false, so I gave all my transformers toys to charity,157
transformers in all, and around 6 months later the tf g2 came to canada and the flame grew once again, you can't believe how
much I hate myself for that. damn, 157 transformers and i'll never see them again, anyway enough of me go read the next story
!!!

Once, I was the proud owner of a TF collection. Now, it is so small it fills one shelf of a bookcase with a lot of room left over. There is a
story about this.
When I was six (maybe seven) my brother and I shared one of the largest TF collections the world had ever known. They occupied the bookshelves, the bedstands, the floor, everywhere. You couldn't even go to the bathroom, because you walked in, and there were the Seacons, standing defiantly on top of the toilet seat, daring any fool autobot to enter their murky domain. Then, my brother lost interest in them. In fact, he hated them. He hated me for liking them. He had this one friend, Chris Baxter, who hated them and me. When we used to be on the same bus, they would torture me, stuff me under the seat, flatten me with as many school supplies as they could get, and Chris, who had to weigh about 200 pounds, would sit on the whole pile. They did this until I said I didn't like them. I never gave in. Then, Jonathan's half of the collection vanished, as did most of mine. He never even asked if I wanted them! But I hid a few, and they are with me to this day. Once Jonathan was indifferent to them, my attention turned immediately to G2. They are part of the collection. My BW collection is
now unrivaled among the school. I am pleased.

I have always been a big fan of Transformers, sure, there were others. I've had GI-Joes, hotwheels and other toys, but Transformers were by far my favorite. When I was growing up Transformers was one of my favorite shows. I was always asking for them, unfortunatly the prices of them usually were beyond what I or my parents had available to spend so I usually had to settle for the smaller mini-cars and go-bots while all my friends had the nicer larger Takara cars. I remember going to friends houses and playing with their Ironhides, Ratchets, Primes and others and wishing I had those ones but to my avail I could never get any of the larger ones. Over time my intrest has seemed to dissapate, but upon a spur of a moment moment bid on eBay my intrest has once again exploded. My first transformer in many years arrived 2 days before my 22 birthday, though it isn't in essance a Transformer but a Tiwanese Knock-off of one. It was in excelent shape and I finally have a full sized Transformer(or an exact clone of one).. It is a Knock-Off of Shockwave. My favorite moment to supercede this may come this weekend, My all time favorite Transformer should be arriving this weekend... Finally... I'll own a Jetfire... Thank you eBay

I remember really thinking that Starscream's arm blasters were really cool. Being an imaginitive kid, I sought to be just like him and selotaped two long pencils to my arms. I chased the other kids around the classroom, screaming "Die, Autobot, die!"
Ah, I was dim in those days. =)
-----------------------------------------------------
I remember way back when I had a huge collection of Transformers. Jazz, Bumblebee, Mirage, Cloudburst, to name but a few. I bought Go-Bots and others a little, but my favorites were always the Transformers. I remember when I got chicken-pox, and my mom got me a Constructicon (I think it was Scrapper). I thought, "I wish I could have chicken-pox again so I can complete Devastator!" Sadly, my Transformers are all but gone now, leaving only a scant few survivors... Optimus Prime, Grimlock, Blaster, Silverbolt, a few Constructicons, a headless Blast-Off, and a dismembered Brainstorm... but my search for G1 toys will continue! Till all are one!
-----------------------------------------------------
I used to have around 70 or 80 of the generation 1 transformers- I only gave them away about a year ago. I had toys going back to 1984! My first toy was Soundwave- with Buzzsaw- for my 8th birthday....only about £15 then- that was shortly after I brought the very first issue of the UK Transformer comic. I still have around 40/50 issues left, including (somewhere) the very last issue (sob)....it was sad to see the decline, but after Time Wars, it seemed to run out of steam. I still have some of the Micromasters, and a few ActionMasters and I have kept the tech specs from every transformer I had- and some from a friend- including original Optimus and Megatron specs! and a few of the annuals- and my copy of the Transformers Movie is a treasured possession.....good times which I don't forget. It is good to see them making a comeback, even if it is not as big as it once was!
-----------------------------------------------------
Okay, I'm only 12 but my earliest memory is seeing the movie. My first tf was a Powermaster Prime. I never really got into tfs however Until G2. Unfortunatly I was of the mentality that the packaging wasn't important, so almost all my tech specs and instructions are gone. My quest for more will never end
