Comments: What do you get when you cross a white cab, a blue trailer, and Robert Stack?? You get Ultra magnus....one of the City Autobot Commanders introduced in the movie!! However, this time we're discussing the figure so we'll leave Robert Stack out of it!

I remember when I got Ultra Magnus for Christmas years back and said to myself.....hey look....it's a white Optimus Prime!!! Magnus was always a giant figure once he was transformed. That's mainly due to the fact that the trailer made up the whole body and the cab only formed the head. He also had many attachments. Some clipped onto his shoulder blades as missiles, some snapped onto his chest plate, and (let's not forget) some were just plain old hands. He always look pretty good in robot form and in vehicular mode.

The insert in the box was styrofoam with cut outs for each of the accessories. I liked that!! Especially considering the fact that it was hard to keep track of them all! An interesting thing to keep in mind: in America only the larger figures had styrofoam inserts. The medium ones didn't (Autobot cars, Decep jets, etc). However, in other countries this wasn't always the case. I have a sealed Mirage figure from Europe which has a styrofoam insert. And, in the insert itself, there are little cut outs to place each and every accessory.

In vehicle form, Ultra Magnus is very slick. In fact, the trailer can house several cars and smaller vehicles. Unfortunately, I felt that the trailer was made a little cheaply. There was way too much plastic used. Therefore, it makes him look a little crappy. Don't get me wrong......I love this figure!!!! He looks great!! In fact, a sealed copy looks slick!! However, I just feel that way too much plastic was used (I guess I'm a first two years spoiled collector).

All in all......he's an excellent part of any TF collection!!!

Ultra Magnus is all soldier. Most comfortable when carrying out Optimus Prime's orders. Possesses magnificent fighting skills, courage, and a gift for battlefield improvisation. Uncomfortable in the mantle of leadership, but presents strong profile as a commander. Carries missile launchers capable of hitting a target 30 miles away. Resolute, fair, and courageous beyond reproach. Ever ready to sacrifice himself for the good of men and mission.
