About the Author, Deepak Chopra

Acknowledged as one of the world's greatest leaders in the field of mind body medicine, Deepak Chopra, M.D. continues to transform our understanding of the meaning of health. Through his creation of The Chopra Center For Well Being in La Jolla, California in 1995, Chopra established a formal vehicle for the expansion of his healing approach using the integration of the best of western medicine with natural healing traditions. Through
his partnership with David Simon, M.D. and numerous health care professionals in both conventional and complementary healing arts, Chopra's work is changing the way the world views physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social wellness.

What prompted Deepak Chopra to expand his view of conventional medicine to embrace complementary treatments from around the world?  Formerly the Chief of Staff at Boston Regional Medical Center, Dr. Chopra built a successful endocrinology practice in Boston in the 1980's.  His teaching affiliations included Tufts University and Boston University Schools of Medicine. Chopra realized in his medical practice that there was potential in western medicine for the establishment of a new life-giving paradigm, one which encompassed the fundamental principle that perfect health is more than just the absence of disease. He began to envision a medical system based upon the premise that health is a lively state of balance and integration of body, mind and spirit. He is widely credited with melding modern theories of quantum physics with the timeless wisdom of ancient cultures. In 1992, he served on the National Institute of Health's Ad Hoc Panel on Alternative Medicine.

Chopra is known worldwide for his published works. The author of 25 books and more than 100 audio, video and CD-ROM titles, he has been published on every continent, and in dozens of languages. Ten million copies of his books have been sold in English alone, and his best-sellers include Perfect Health; Ageless Body, Timeless Mind; The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, The Return of Merlin, and The Path to Love. In focusing on specific health issues, Chopra has published numerous books including Boundless Energy: The Complete Mind / Body Program for Overcoming Chronic Fatigue; Journey Into Healing: Awakening the Wisdom Within You; Perfect Weight: The Complete Mind / Body
Program For Achieving and Maintaining Your Ideal Weight; Restful Sleep: The Complete Mind / Body Program For Overcoming Insomnia; Quantum Healing: Exploring the Frontiers of Mind / Body Medicine and Creating Health. His popular audiobooks and
CD-ROMS include Magical Mind, Magical Body; The Higher Self; Journey to the Boundless; and The Wisdom Within. Many know him from his regular work with PBS, with whom he has produced a number of television and video programs including Body, Mind and Soul: The Mystery and The Magic, one of the most highly viewed and successful fund-raisers in the history of the network; The Way of the Wizard, Alchemy and The Crystal Cave.

What People are saying about The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra

THIS IS THE BOOK on the way it works.  This is NOT a book about getting rich quick.  It is a handbook for successful living.  It is a book of the metaphysical principles by which we and the universe operate.   It is not the soft and easy path that Deepak leads us on, but if one incorporates these practices into their life, their experience will certainly improve.  The book challenges you to reconsider your beliefs, attitudes and perspectives as you proceed on your journey.  If you are feeling lost and confused and lacking direction, the study of this book could change your life.  Give this book to someone you love.

incredible inspiration
The author miraculously condensed ages of wisdom into a work within grasp. Sometimes esoteric, he allows the reader/listener to learn at his/her level. Very inspiring!

The seven spiritual laws to success was the coolest book I've ever read .It's simplicity and its insights which is already there in our mind but which needs to be brought to the consciousness got me breathless. The world could be a better place if everyone read this book.

An office gem
I keep a copy of this book in my cubicle, and pull it down when I need some perspective. When I need to be reminded that I'm just at a JOB and my LIFE is about meaningful things. When I need to be reminded that what I think about my circumstances does make a difference, and how I treat the people around me says a lot about who I am.

Or... as the contrarian says...
Oh Lord!
Are people so stupid today that they take advice from a man who makes millions of dollars, yet preaches spiritualism? He's probably having a good laugh right now on his Yacht in the Carribean!  If you want to amuse him further - pay for his extravagant lifestyle with your hard earned dollars by buying this book.

Reading from the Book

From The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra

The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success

1. The Law of Pure Potentiality
The source of all creation is pure consciousness . . . pure potentiality seeking expression
from the unmanifest to the manifest. And when we realize that our true Self is one of
pure potentiality, we align with the power that manifests everything in the universe.

2. The Law of Giving
The universe operates through dynamic exchange . . . giving and receiving are different
aspects of the flow of energy in the universe. And in our willingness to give that which
we seek, we keep the abundance of the universe circulating in our lives.

3. The Law of "Karma" or Cause and Effect

Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like kind . . . what we
sow is what we reap. And when we choose actions that bring happiness and success
to others, the fruit of our karma is happiness and success.

4. The Law of Least Effort

Nature's intelligence functions with effortless ease . . . with carefreeness, harmony
and love. And when we harness the forces of joy and love, we create success and
good fortune with effortless ease.

5. The Law of Intention and Desire

Inherent in every intention and desire is the mechanics for its fulfillment . . . intention
and desire in the field of pure potentiality have infinite organizing power. And when we
introduce intention in the fertile ground of pure potentiality, we put this infinite organizing
power to work for us.

6. The Law of Detachment

In detachment lies the wisdom of uncertainty . . . in the wisdom of uncertainty lies
the freedom from our past, from the known, which is the prison of past conditioning.
And in our willingness to step into the unknown, the field of all possibilities, we surrender
ourselves to the creative mind that orchestrates the dance of the universe.

7. The Law of "Dharma" or Purpose in Life

Everyone has a purpose in life . . . a unique gift or special talent to give others. And when
we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy and
exultation of our own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals.
