Forum 3: Spiritual Study: Books & Teachers
September 7, 1998: Top 100 Spiritual Books List I am creating a list of the 100 Best Spiritual Books of All Time and I could use your help. You can check out the beginnings of this in the Spiritwalk Bibliography. What are the 2 or 3 books which you have found personally valuable and, if you will, a brief explanation of why and maybe a synopsis of the book as we may not all be familiar with it. I would really appreciate your input on this project. Roger Ebsen Responses to Forum3@Spiritwalk.org. All responses will be posted here unless anonymity is requested.
March 22, 1998 Question from Roger Ebsen Have you read a good book that you would like to tell others about? I always appreciate hearing about an event, a book, a magazine, a TV Show, or a teacher on the horizon or cutting edge that otherwise I might never know about. Where have you found inspiration recently? [you might even want to tell us about an old favorite.] What are you studying now? Roger Ebsen
March 22, 1998 Response from Roger Ebsen: In re: Spiritual Books Here's what I find in my bookbag today. The spiritwalk group is reading Carl Jung's spiritual autobiography Memories, Dreams and Reflections. I brought home 2 of Ram Dass' older books on spiritual practice, namely Grist for the Mill and The Only Dance There Is. I needed these books for the quote Namaste` today. I am currently also reading Sylvia Boorstein's very accessible book on the fundamentals of American Buddhism titled It's Easier than You Think. I also carry along with me a copy of Shambala pocket book by Jack Kornfield, Teachings of the Buddha. On my desk at the office is The Anatomy of Energy by Caroline Myss, which I am re-reading. This book is about human energy systems and the Chakras. So that's what I'm doing...What are you up to?
