Why the Episode Guide is No Longer IllustratedThen I made two major realizations. The first was that those sorts of Episode Guides take a small eternity to put together. It's not just a case of writing them, but also of desiging tables, writing the code, editing the images, putting it all together, and hour after hour after hour of testing to make sure that all the pictures were showing up and all the links worked. By contrast, writing one of my newer Episode Guides often takes just two or three days (depending on my focus ^^;). The second thing I realized was that I was very quickly running out of disk space on my Geocities account. I was down to the point where I had just 3 MB of space left. It came down to a choice paying for still more incremental space, or eliminating all those surplus images and pages of the Illustrated versions of "Rock & Ride!" (which I'd incorrectly been writing as "Rock N' Ride!" all this time) and "A Mouse and His Motorcycle." What really swayed my decision was a third realization that I forget to mention. It happened when I was working on the Guides for "The Reeking Reign of Head Cheese." This is one of the few first season episodes that the BM Fan Club didn't have screenshots for. That meant doing a text-only summary. Lo and behold, in the middle of it, I realized that I found the written-out version was better than it would have been in the illustrated versions I had been doing. I found it was much more informational (particularly in the dialogue department), more fun to read, and more fun for me to write. Much more oppurtunity for jokes, a bit of editorializing, and insights (I hope all of you see these So, in the interest of actually being able to make future additions to this page, and in quality, I switched to the un-illustrated but super-thorough Episode Guides you now see before you, including written versions for the two previously illustrated stories. I apologize to those who preferred the originals, but I think if you give these a chance, you'll grow to like them even more than those. All of the images I used are still at bikermice.com, and are organized according to episode, so you can still see them. Thanks for coming. BMEG Main
