New Image Galleries, More Episode Guides, New Mainpage

Well, from Mars's annual update is complete!^^ Sheez, I can't believe it took me this long (but then, that's what I say every time I update). I could tell you all about my exhausting sophmore year (what profits a man if he keeps a 4.0 but loses his own soul?), or my horrible, horrible, horrible summer job (have mercy on the cashiers of the world, my friends--they're but one out-of-state check from insanity), but I won't. Mostly, it took me so long to update because I'm a) a perfectionist and b) slow. Bad enough by themselves, but together...oy. To anyone who tried to e-mail me over the last few months and didn't get a reply, I apologize. I hardly checked my AOL account at all, because I knew how it was backing up (especially given Happy Donut Land's surprising popularity). E-mail me now, though, and I'll definitely get back to you. I gotta remember to come up with a seperate e-mail for this page, though.

At any rate, I think you'll all find the wait was worth it. I've done a lot to from Mars over the last few weeks. Overall, the site is more functional and attractive. Most obviously, I redesigned the front page, and got rid of those ugly orange caption blocks. You can also get to each section's mainpage from here (the caption is a link). The navigation blocks at the top and the bottom of every page (except the section main pages, where they don't appear at all) have been shrunk and streamlined, but are just as easy to use as ever. More importantly, from Mars now looks essentially the same in Netscape as it does in Internet Explorer. I had NO IDEA how rough everything looked in Netscape! On the bright side, it helped me find a lot of errors that I'd missed the first time around. The pages still aren't exact mirror-images, but close enough likenesses that you'd need DNA testing to tell them apart.

Speaking of appearances, graphics, and such, (and making a graceful segueway to the substantive updates), my once-tiny Image Gallery (still in the FUN section) has GROWN (and moved to Tripod while it was at it^^). In fact, it's gotten so big, I've split it into three parts! First, we have the General Art page, which is all the stuff that was in the original plus 10 new images, including scans of the Biker Mice calendar, some action-figure signboard pics, and scans of Biker Mice temporary tattoos. Very nice stuff. Next, I've put up two--count 'em, TWO--screencap galleries! The first boasts 150 images of Rimfire (drool, fangirls, drool!) , from his first appearance in "Back to Mars Part One" to the end of "Once Upon a Time on Mars Part Three" (give it plenty of time to load ^^;;). The second (smaller) gallery features Stoker, with screencaps from "Caveat Mentor." I plan to add more once I get a video card that can handle captures. In the meantime, enjoy! (And if you're wondering why I've got 150 images of Rimfire and 30 some of Stoker, it's explained on the pages themselves).

Also new in the FUN section is a collection of my favorite Biker Mice Quotes. For the most part, they're snippets of dialogue, although you'll find a few one-liners, along with Modo's Momma's sayings, the lyrics to "Midnight Special," and the Traditional Plutarkian Greeting (with instructions!).

The Biker Mice Links page has been updated. The link to Lania's page has finally (FINALLY!) been fixed (I hope that Secret of Nimh page appreciated all the extra traffic it was getting, voluminous as I'm sure it was^^) , the broken link to Princess's page has been removed (wish I knew where it had gotten to), and I added a few new pages to all three sections.

Now, a note on the Downloads page. If you didn't know, Xoom, or NBCi, or whatever the Hell they're calling themselves now, stopped hosting webpages in July. For whatever reason, though, all the pages I had there are still up. But given that they could disappear any day (and since I can't get in and edit them), I've moved all that stuff onto Tripod. During the moving process, I winnowed the number of desktop wallpapers down to my 15 favorites. Most of the papers I took down were just plain redundant. The ones that are left are the best of the best. In addition, recognizing my space limitations, I've also made only the 1024 x 768 (or is it 786?) resolution wallpapers available. Sorry to have to do it, but I didn't have much choice.

So, lots of stuff to FUN. What about the other sections? Well, in EPISODES, there are five new entries to the Extremely Thorough Biker Mice Episode Guide: "Steal of the Century," "Upwardly Mobile," "Motorcross Trap," "Unforgiven Cheese," and "Bleu Cheese Bros." Okay, so I skipped around a little bit. I just wanted to re-watch a few favorites from early in season two.^^ Next time, I hope to add the "Back to Mars" three-parter, but don't hold your breath, because, well, you know...

The BASIC INFORMATION section got a few small updates. First, : I fixed the link in the navigation bar so that you can get to the Voice Talents page without any trouble. Next, thanks to Anu's delightfully thorough information, I was able to add the Biker Mice's Finnish names to the Biker Mice Around the World page (Vinski! Vinski!). Finally, I added an entry to the Who's Who page. Look under Freedom Fighters. I'll say no more. ^^

Last but not least, in IN-DEPTH, I've added a new In-Joke, pointed out by Jake (sankyuu, Jake!), and added some new inconsistencies to Biker Mice Bloopers, including some pointed out by Morning over a year ago. Goddamn, I am SLOW! I think that covers it. I'm planning to add some FanArt soon (but first I'm gonna redesign the page), and I'm working on a FanFic (ask Sasha about its progress --;;). Till then!
