The Brightest of Gems
by Rodney C(oates)//98

Robins singing against a blue orange sky,
sunshine sparkling into a brand new day.
Silent screams giving way to a burst of tears,
this moment wraps all of our fears.

Joy comes with the morning dew,

awakening of hope that springs anew.

Challenges to action, words caught up in time
another light has dawned into our glass.
Our loves perfection, culmination and
poetry in motion this flower in bloom.
Rainbows shower our hearts with gladness,
our souls have been renewed.

Let your heart always be with the eagles,

and your ears filled with the words of the elders.

Let your eyes gaze upon both past and future,
and your feet ever moving forward.

Let your hands always be open to giving,

and your back never fear to strain.

Let your soul constantly dwell with angels,
and your being never leave the poor.

Let your journey always lead to new horizons,

and your words be honest, thoughtful and true.

Let your life be complete with love,
and your living be filled with compassion.
Let us love you and teach you,
as you teach us of love.
